Women in old Iran appear on int'l billboards

Iranian women from the last two centuries have appeared on international billboards at an art gallery in Iran.   

An exhibition titled 'Beygom' at Tehran's Shirin Art Gallery recently showcased photos of women in old Iran appearing on international billboards with an amalgamation of tradition and modernity.

The creator of the exhibition, Tabassom Taham, said to the local media that her main objective was to show the power of such women, noting that we must learn power and consistency from mothers and women in the past.

The artist has also tried to use these women in her works as a means to foreground the role of women in society.
